Persuading other people
Life is really full of bias. Agree?
Whether we admit it or not, we are people-person. We care about what other people say about us. We want to look good not just to feel better about ourselves but to impress other people.
According to Aristotle, a person's character is most important in being able to convince or persuade an audience or specific somebody. And he calls it ETHOS. Ethos is the feelings that we attach to a person. Aristotle, mentioned three factors of persuasion: Ethos, Logos and Pathos. Ethos is the character or credibility of the speaker. Logos is the logic or reasoning of the speaker. And Pathos is the emotional appeals used by the speaker.
Since Ethos, is subjective, it is created or defined by the listeners. So therefore, we should be sure to be a speaker with positive Ethos. This could be done by displaying adequate knowledge, being sincere, appearing well-groomed and personable and behaving with decorum.
With this, you're sure to make people agree with what your saying.
