A Sweet Reminder
Most of us have sweet tooth. We have our cravings for sweets. Some want ice cream, candies, chocolates, cakes, fruit shakes and a lot more.
But do you know that the recommended daily allowance for sugar in one's diet is 2-3 tablespoons only? Too much sugar could cause excessive body fats or even diabetes. As a matter of fact, there are around 194 million people in the world who suffer from diabetes. In the Philippines, diabetes is the 9th cause of death among Filipinos.
I guess this is the reason why a good number of sugar-free products have been around and popular in the market. There are now sugar-free candies, cakes, milk, cola, chocolates, etc. Manufacturers use alternative artificial sweeteners. The most common of those is aspartame. But too much aspartame could cause complications in the brain because it releases methanol which releases toxins that could cause cancer. So, it is wise to examine in detail if what we consider safe desserts, the sugar-free sweets, contain aspartame.
If you can't stop yourself from craving the sweetest desserts, make sure to eat in moderation. Too much of anything could be harmful.
